He was predeceased by: his parents, Thalbert Dorman and Vivian Ruth Dawson Delano; his former spouses, Shirley Brame and Patricia Delano; and his daughter Patty Delano Neagle.
He is survived by: his wife Liubov Delano (Lu); his brother Wilton Thalbert Delano (Penelope); his son Richard Dorman Delano (Michelle); his stepchildren, Jackie Morrison (Paul), Steve Parker Hairfield, John "Rick" Hairfield and Ronald Lee Hairfield; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas Neagle, Leland Edward Basl and Ava Abbott (Dougie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Warsaw Baptist Church (226 Main St, Warsaw, VA 22572). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Although any flowers received would be loved and appreciated, the family asks in lieu of flowers to honor Howard's memory by contributing to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, which he was affiliated with.
