He was predeceased by: his parents, Taylor Johnston and Gertrude Johnston; and his brother Dr. Dan Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Johnston; his daughters, Tommie Johnston, Cathleen Mihalaki (John) and Amy Ratliff (Tim); his grandsons, Timothy Ratliff and Mitchell Ratliff; and his nephew Andy Johnston.
