We are sad to announce that on March 7, 2024, at the age of 74, Susan Rebecca Prater Raines of Haysi, Virginia, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas Prater and Betty Sue Dotson Prater; her husband Bob Raines; her son Robert Henry Raines; and her grandson Dominic Nathaniel Yates.
She is survived by: her children, Bonnie Kathleen Barnett (Greg) of Pulaski, VA, Russell Aaron Raines (Selina) of Prater, VA and John Thomas Raines of Haysi, VA; her brothers, Jerry Prater (Sue) of Phoneix City, AL and Jimmy Prater (Michelle) of Phoneix City, AL; her daughter-in-law Tracy Coleman Raines of Prater, VA.; and her pet Josie. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
