He was predeceased by: his parents, Hadley Edwards and Eva Powers Edwards; his brothers, Phayne, Garnie, Palmer, Kelly and Freeman Edwards; and his grandson Jacob Steven Morgan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mellonie Anderson of Abingdon, Virginia, Lori Morgan of Wise and Amy Edwards (Ricky Ray) of Haysi; his close friend Ginger Mullins of Haysi; his grandchildren, Cody Anderson, Dalton Anderson and Chloe Whitcher; and his great grandchildren, Cohen Anderson and Hadley Whitcher.
