He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Bennett and Bessie Kincaid Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Carol Garner Bennett; his children, Tommy Bennett, Jr., Troy Bennett (Lisa) and Tammy Hart; his siblings, Wayne Bennett (Diane), Helen Merritt and Judy Smith (George); his grandchildren, John Hart (Jen, Chad Butler), Stone Bennett and Ariel Bennett; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Hart, Callen Bennett, Caison Hart and Brooklynn Madden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in his memory be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg, VA.
