She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Dye and Edith Bays Dye; her husband Rufus Barnette; her son Timothy Martin Barnette; her brother Dale Martin Dye; and her granddaughter Ethlyn Joy Maxey.
She is survived by: her children, Boyd Barnette of Haymarket and Monica Maxey (James) of Front Royal; her siblings, Henry Dye of Ringold, Scottie Dye of Enterprise, Alabama and Lynna Brown of Front Royal; her grandchildren, Zachary Barnette, Tiana Maxey and Ariel Maxey; her great grandchildren, Connor Maxey, Daniel Higginson III, Alaithia Higginson, Reighlynn Joiner and Joylene Joiner; and her daughter-in-law Molly Barnette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
