He was predeceased by: his parents, David Henry and Helen Lucy Bradley Shifflett; and his brothers, David Henry, Jr. and Roy Layton Shifflett. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cutlip Shifflett; his siblings, Joe Shifflett (Dorothy) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Rosie Roush (Gene) of Caret and Peggy Lanham (Matt) of Bealeton, Virginia; his children, Sandra Scott (Curtis) of Bristow, Virginia and Richard Shifflett, Jr. (Faith) of Warrenton, Virginia; his grandchildren, Hallie Scott, Cody Scott, Aubrey Shifflett, Avery Shifflett, Caleb Shifflett and Benjamin Shifflett; his stepchildren, David Hall (Jill) of Culpeper and Lisa Rudolph (Robert) of Gainesville; his stepgrandchildren, Steven Rudolph (Nicole), Kevin Rudolph (Meagan Trenchard), Kristen Hall, Matthew Hall and Lauren Hall; and his great grandchild Keatyn Rudolph.
