He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Strong and Nancy Ann Short Strong of Little; his siblings, Grace Mays Macintosh, Geneva Strong Brown, Ottis Strong, Simon Strong, Caesar Strong, Rev. Walter Strong, Freida Strong, Omeda Strong Combs and Mary Sonya Strong Collier; and his brother-in-law Donald L. Gabbard.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ruth Smith Strong of Booneville; his daughter Kimberly Strong; his son-in-law Tom Burks; his grandchildren, Julia Burks, Nathan Burks of Haymarket and Virginia; his brother Brack Strong (Judy) of Hamilton; and his siblings-in-law, Pauline Smith Gabbard, Freda Campbell Smith and Paul Smith of Booneville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
