With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Lee Hogge (Hayes, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 19, 2024 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Michael Lee find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his father Winfred "Wimpy" Lee; and his brother Neal. He is survived by: his mother Camilla Ann Rollins Hogge; his wife Rebecca "Becky" Hogge; and his brothers, Damon (Bonnie) and Douglas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He then went on to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF), where he worked as a maintenance technician for 35 years and retired in September 2023. He was the lead carpenter for the Foundation, though he also covered all of the various facility trades after hours and was well known for his creative solutions.
