She was predeceased by: her father Lester Laverne; her husband John "Jack" Francis Spurling; her daughter Jacqueline Spurling Cottingham; and her grandson G. Russell Cottingham, IV. She is survived by: her daughters, Leslie Sawyer, Julie Hitch and Pattie Zeran. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
