She was predeceased by: her father Alfred Dale Bowen Jr.; and her spouse L. F. Phillips, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Ruth Peele Bowen; her children, Elizabeth McCormick (Hugh) and John Phillips (Tina); her grandson Chase Phillips; her brother Alfred Dale Bowen III (Barbara); her brother-in-law J. C. Phillips (Lela); her niece Jennifer Morrison (Stuart); her nephew Chris Phillips (Shara); and also, Charlie and Jax.

She loved fundraising for charity and was instrumental in organizing numerous fundraisers for community organizations.
