Bernetta Jones Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 17, 2020, at the age of 73, Bernetta Jones of Hartfield, Virginia passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bernetta Jones to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Jackson Sr. and Catherine Bernstein; her grandparents, Willie and Mariah Harris; and her grandson Justin Reed.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence "Doc" Jones; her children, Pamela Willis of Fredericksburg, Herman Wake III (Candiace) of Yorktown, Jason Wake (Jackie) of Saluda and Lisa Wake (Bobby) of Newport News; her stepchildren, James Wake (Robin) of Owings Mills, Angela Onyekanne (Chika) of Cincinnati and Ashley Johnson of Abu Dahabi; her grandchildren, Shannon Rodgers, Ciara Wake, Julianna, Jillian Solomon, Tariq Wake, Arnessia Wake, Nyzaiah Hawkins, Mariah Wake, Camden, Clayton Onyekanne and Corrine Wake; her great grandchildren, Donnie, Noah and Arabella Rodgers; her siblings, Preston Jackson Jr. (Sheila), Timothy Payne, Betty Cook, Darlene Bryant (Harry), Debbie Williams (Johnny) and Cynthia Johnson (Melvin); her cousin Arlene Holmes; and her pet Rambo. She is also survived by other loving relatives, caring friends.
Due to the current health pandemic, attendance will be limited. Face coverings, temperature checks and social distance are required.
In lieu of flowers, Bernetta had requested donations be made to the Bernetta Jones Higher Education Scholarship Fund setup for her grandchildren at Sonabank, 11290 General Puller Highway, Hartfield, VA 23071.
