He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Lee Shifflett and Irene Taylor Shifflett; his siblings, Rhoda Lambert, Jesse Layman, Howard'Pete'Shifflett, Bernard'Bud'Shifflett and Luther "Gary" Shifflett; and his daughter Lisa J. Ellerbee.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Wenger Shifflett; his son Michael Shifflett; his daughter-in-law Cynthia of Harrisonburg; his daughters, Teresa Shifflett of McGaheysville and Carol Johnson; and his son-in-law David Johnson (Judi Ritter) of Harrisonburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel (3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, VA 22801). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Victory Fellowship Church (3160 Limestone Ln, Dayton, VA 22821).
