He was predeceased by: his former wife Laura Dulaney; and his parents, Russell and Laura. He is survived by: his children, Linda Van Tassel of Fairfax, Russell Jr. (Judy) of Hyattsville, MD and Stephen Dulaney of Falls Church; his grandsons, David Dulaney (Molly) of Pittsburgh, PA and Lyle Hansen (Kelly) of Oceanside, CA; his great grandchildren, Lola Rose Dulaney and Harper Quinn Dulaney; and his siblings, Phyllis Marshall of Portland, OR and Richard Dulaney (Luvinnia Payne) of Milan, IN.
