It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lewis Samuel Campbell (Harrisonburg, Virginia), who passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ersel and Sarah Elizabeth Coffman Campbell; and also, Heber C. Campbell, R. Ersel Campbell (Frances), James L. Byler, William "Bill" Showalter Jr., William E. "Wes" Showalter III and Garland H. Ritchie (Louise).
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Dawn Ritchie Campbell; his daughter Michele Dawn Campbell Simmers (Daniel) of Broadway; his sisters, Barbara Showalter of Harrisonburg, Sarah Frances C. Byler of Rockingham and Dorcas "Dee" C. Blair (Robert) of Stephens City; and his grandson Seth Daniel Simmers. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Ritchie Retreat" building at Camp Overlook 3014 Camp Overlook Lane, Keezletown, Virginia 22832.
