He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Ray and Iva Nell Thompson Moyers; his brother Ray Eugene Moyers; and his son Gene Smith. He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Moyers; his children, Johnny Moyers (Sherry), DeAnna Westcott (Matt) and Tina Wine (Roger); and his sister Linda Gainer (Sis). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
