James Y. Fukumoto Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 5, 2024, at the age of 96, James Y. Fukumoto of Harrisonburg, Virginia, born in Los Angeles, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Seki Fukumoto and Kumakichi Fukumoto; his wife Masa Mae; his daughter Donna Fukumoto, MD; and his siblings, Marie Fukushima, Mary Nakatsukasa, George Fukumoto, Fred Kajikawa and Bill Kajikawa.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Kurbel (Steve) and Matthew (Shelley). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
