He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Veater and Ruth Veater (Allen); his wife Gladys Jaspering; and his brother Glenn Veater. He is survived by: his children, Von Veater of Shenandoah, VA and Tina Rule (Billy) of Shenandoah, VA; his grandchildren, Kyle Veater (Chelsea) of Richardson, TX and Brett Veater of Phoenix, AZ; and his great grandchild Norah Veater.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Road, Edinburg, VA 22824.
