She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Armstrong Ward and Howard Alexander Ward; her brother David Alexander Ward; and her friend Linda S. Stephens. She is survived by: her husband Marvin C. Hillsman, Jr.; her daughters, Susan Hillsman Hurley (Ron) of Virginia Beach and Amy Hillsman Blackwell (Ed) of Harrisonburg; her sister Linda Carol of Encinitas; and her grandchildren, John, Mark, Daniel Hurley, Madelyn and Andrew Blackwell.
