He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Nelson Simmers and Bernice Liskey Simmers; his daughter Kelly Morgan Simmers; and his brother Michael Clark Simmers. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Hawse Simmers; and his siblings, Clyde Nelson Simmers, Jr. (Jacquelin), Joy Simmers Callahan (Tim), Douglas Alan Simmers (Brooke) and Fay Simmers McCain (Greg).
