With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Simmons Hanger of Harrisonburg, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Perlie Addison and Treva Ola Fadley Simmons; her siblings, Janet C. Whitmire, Perlie R. Simmons and James L. Simmons; and her brother-in-law Tony Whitmire.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Sue Hanger Hall (Keith) and Timothy Roland Hanger (Pamela); her siblings, Betty J. Spitzer (Wayne), Joseph F. Simmons (Becky), Roger L. Simmons (Judy) and Judy A. Simmons; her sisters-in-law, Lynn Simmons and Chris Simmons; her grandchildren, Addison S. Hall (Natalie) and Isaac B. Hall (Kaitlyn); and her great grandchildren, Ellie Sue Hall and Jagger Stone Hall.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Otterbein United Methodist Church (176 W Market St, Harrisonburg, VA 22801).
