She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Abraham and Lecia Tutwiler Whissen; her husband Joseph D. Funk; and her brother Melvin Whissen. She is survived by: her daughter Shelby Jean Funk Burruss (W. T.) of Linville; her grandchildren, Diana Burruss Cartwright (Howard) of Virginia Beach, Sherry Burruss Cline (Paul) of Harrisonburg, William Terrell Burruss III (Theresa) of Fairfax and Joseph Funk Burruss of Linville; her great grandchildren, Curtis Cartwright, Ryan Sayre, Britain Madgett, Alexandra Daniel, Benjamin, Christian, Katie, Tyler, Zeke, Sydney Burruss, Julie and Jackson Cline; her great great grandchildren, Beau, Burns, Ella, MaKonnen, Noa and Dawson; and her sister Margaret Lee Whissen Dingledine. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
