He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Lee Richards and Fannie Bertha Richards; his siblings, Betty Mae Lee, Robert Henry Richards, Ronald Edward Richards and William Lee Richards; his in-laws, Charles and Eunice Minnix; and his brother-in-law James Witt.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Faye Richards; his sons, Johnny Edgar Richards (Cindy) and Jay Michael Richards (Roxanne); his brother Joe Richards (Anna); his siblings-in-law, Timothy Minnix, Dennis Minnix (Vicki), Linda Witt and Gloria Garnand (John); his grandchildren, Jessica Richards, Johnny Richards III, Alex Richards (Tess Richards), Ashton Richards and Jordan Richards; and his great grandchild Austin Solorio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
