He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Hale and Margaret Hale; his wife Barbara Hale; and his siblings, Paul Hale, Ralph Hale, Frances Gillespie, Mildred Abbott, Lucy Brizendine and Virginia Robertson (Gay).
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia (Cyndi), Tourville (Lance), Wilbert Hale, Rodney (Rod), Ellis (Duke), Terry Hale (Sheryl) and Jerry Hale (Marcel); and his siblings, Arthur Hale, Mamie Austin, Rose Mary Dooley and Charlotte Brizendine. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
