She was predeceased by: her husband Charles B. "Boots" Helms; her parents, Burman Stump and Lillie Stump; and her sister Marie Stover. She is survived by: her son Steve Helms; her daughter-in-law Kathy Helms of Hardy; her grandchildren, Steven Helms (Taylor Brizendine), Katelyn Helms and Jeffrey Wood II; her sister Jane Ellis of Roanoke; and her friends, Myra Wilson of Roanoke, Ed Arrington of Salem, Melinda Setzer of Roanoke and Marlene Leech of Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to New Hope Christian Church,.
