He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton T. and Mary D. Mayo. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gwynn Thomas; his brother Dr. John Allen Mayo of Warrenton, VA; his daughters, Pamela Mayo (James Rogansky) of Sewickley, PA, Mary-Beth Johnson (Michael) of Mechanicsville, VA and Meg Mayo of Pittsburgh, PA; and his granddaughters, Grace Rogansky and Alexis Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lebanon Methodist Church (8492 Peaks Rd, Hanover, VA 23069).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Olive Branch Methodist (Gloucester, VA), Lebanon Methodist, Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, Trout Unlimited or the Tunnel to Towers.
