He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustus Googins and Dorothy Armel Googins; and his siblings, Dr. John (Jack) and Georgia Traxel. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Gill Googins; his children, Richard Googins, Christine Scott (Bob) and Dan Googins (Kim); his stepchildren, Laura Wingold (Richard) and Bryan Wingold (Tracey); his grandchildren, Rachel Shields, Ruthie Taylor, Blaise Wingold, Maya Wingold and Sean Wingold; and his great grandchildren, Ashley Googins, Zakk Karsolich, Juliet Shields, Parker Taylor and Pippa Taylor.
