He is survived by: his sons, James Andrew Brodie of Henrico and Chandler Joseph Brodie of Palmyra; his parents, Owen Wingfield and Patricia Hamilton Brodie of Richmond; his sister Mary Elizabeth Brodie Venn of Parkton; and his close friend Carrie Countiss.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to the Faison Center for Autism, 1701 Byrd Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230.
