He was predeceased by : his parents, William M. Watson, Sr. and Hilda H. Hunt; and his son Larry W. Clarkson. He is survived by : his wife Gladys; his sons, William M. "Mel" Watson, III (Kaye) and Chuck Watson; his grandsons, William M. "Sonny" Watson, IV (Tori), Jesse "Tyler" Watson, Bradley A. Watson (Shayla) and Devon F. Watson; his sister Betty J. Brantley; and his brother-in-law Donald R. Brantley. He is also survived by five beautiful great granddaughters.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Warwick Assembly of God (1228 Todds Ln, Hampton, VA 23666).
