He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Jones and Herman Godwin, Sr.; and his siblings, Herbert Godwin, Sr., Lorraine and Floraine Godwin.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Godwin; and his siblings, Vernon Godwin of Hampton, Herman Godwin, Jr. (Rosa) of Hampton and Beverly Jones of Hampton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
