He is survived by: his close friend Howard Britt; his brother James T. Eyre; his sister-in-law Sarah Eyre; and his nieces, Kathleen Swinson and Sally Rock.

He also volunteered with the Peninsula Aids Foundation during their annual Fundraising Auctions.
