With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Douglas Schmidt of Hampton, Virginia, born in Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold George Schmidt and Virginia Kemp Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Schmidt; his stepson Jason Jackson; his sister Debbie Schmidt Hughes (Charles); and his nieces and nephews, Aimee Elswick (David), Joey, Preston Elswick, Jennifer Hughes Bartlome (Chris) and Zayne Bartlome.
