He was predeceased by: his parents, George Melvin and Virginia Melvin; and his sister Sandra Melvin Artis (Curtis). He is survived by: his wife Polly Melvin; his children, Tawana Nichols (Clarence, Sr.), Tyrone Melvin, Jr. (Terra), Kevin Melvin (Mary) and Kenneth Melvin (Meghan); his grandchildren, Clarence Nichols, Jr., Alexander Nichols, Angelica Nichols, Amyna Melvin, Tamir Melvin, Adrianna Melvin, Kaleb Melvin, Hazel Melvin, Milani Melvin, Kai Melvin, Polly Melvin and Mia Melvin; his great grandchild Aiden Nichols; and his siblings, James Melvin (Deborah), Gloria Melvin Cox, Elmira Melvin Pitchford, Gwendolyn Melvin Banks (Kenneth) and Joyce Melvin-Jones (Carter). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
