She is survived by: her husband David L. Spruill; her adoptive children, Felicia J. Spruill Nuru Ihaq, Fatima Ismail Lafia and Faisal Ismail Lafia; her siblings, Kathy Harvey, Kelly Mitchell, Melissa Spencer, Debbie Jaramillo, Randy Myers, Terry Myers, Ray Myers and Larry Spruill; and her godmother Barbara Gerow Kindon.
Because of her love for her dogs, the family asks that memorials be made to the Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
