Auerbach of Hampton, Virginia, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on August 29, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Auerbach and Marjorie Auerbach. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Auerbach; his children, Paul, Allison Shevlin, Candace, Elizabeth, Robert J., Kari Auerbach, Aiden, Emily, Brian G., Holly Auerbach, Kaitlynn, Shelly, Geoffrey Kostiner, Catherine A. Auerbach, Carlos Walter and Michael; and his pet Pickles. He is also survived by husband, loving father, Pops and Robert Daddy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Alexander Graham Bell Association.

“Robert will be missed and is already missed by his neighbors! He was the neighborhood historian and I loved hearing him share his memories and recollections. He made the history of Olde Wythe come alive with his memories. He was the first neighbor to welcome us to the neighborhood in 2015. He stopped his red truck and we instantly became neighbors! He took time with his neighbors. I remember when he showed me his handiwork in his back yard and I knew he was talented! Calvin and Charlotte”
