It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard E. Bennett of Hampton, Virginia, born in Hinton, West Virginia, who passed away on September 30, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Russell and Estella Hester Bennett; his sisters, Anna Jean Ditty, Charlotte Johnson and Bertie Lou Maynor; and his wife Shirley Ann McDermon.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Dawn of Devin, DJ, Christy, William, Dainton and Drew. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
