He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanine B. Hughes; his parents, William C. Hughes and Mary Ellen Martin Hughes; and his siblings, Randolph, James, Robert Cecil Hughes and Louise Midkiff.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Hughes (Anne), Timothy Hughes (Ressie) and Carolyn Sawyer (Tom); and his grandchildren, Ava Nicole Hughes, Thomas Paul Sawyer, Jr. (Vanessa), Olivia Sawyer, Brittany Terry (Josh), Allison Lockhart (Chris), Eleanor Sawyer, Melissa Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Joey Hughes and Abigail Rodriguez (Lazaro). He is also survived by four great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
