He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray W. Ballard, Sr. and Nora Stewart Ballard; his in-laws, Cledith and Jane Hayes; and his brother-in-law Neal Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Sharan Hayes Ballard; his daughters, Rachel Vogeley (Kevin) and Brooke Ballard (Tim Elliott); his grandchildren, Emily Elliott, Charlie Vogeley, Judd Vogeley and Elizabeth Elliott; his brother Edward Ballard (Debra); and his siblings-in-law, Susan Hayes, Carol Hayes (George Nichols) and Jimmy Hayes (Bonnie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
