He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Sommer and Lorraine Sommer; his sisters, Bette Coia and Terri Walters; and his siblings-in-law, Don Coia, John Wayda, Richard Walters and Nancy M. Sommer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shirley Wayda, Michael Sommer (Darlene), John "Jack" G. Sommer, Jr. (Sally), Pete Sommer (Tammy) and Peggy Speck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
