It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Norine Verlander of Hampton, Virginia, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on September 21, 2022, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hattie Mae and George Wesley Peck; her husband George F. Verlander; her daughters, Jeanette Schrum, Sandra Ballard and Brenda Strickland; her sister Ruby Johnson; her grandchildren, Dan, Stephanie, Trip, Dara, Jamie, Jeremy and Jason; her great grandchildren, Alex, Brittnie, Parker, Katelyn, Andruw, Jay, Skylar, Amy, Mary, Natalie, Carter and Julia; and her great great grandchildren, PJ, Layla and MJ.
She remained very active in the life of the church by cooking for church suppers and participating in the prayer shawl ministry until the COVID shutdown and her health made it too difficult to attend.
