He is survived by: his children, Ruth V. McLawhorn of Mechanicsville, Melton E. McLawhorn Jr. of Newport News, Joseph H. McLawhorn of Suffolk and Lavinia McLawhorn of Newport News; and his grandchildren, Mandy Touchstone (Michael) of Texas, Carmittia Gilbert of Williamsburg, Charles Sullivan (Dawn) of Mechanicsville and Michael McLawhorn (Leah) of Hopewell. He is also survived by 9 Great-grandchildren.
