It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lee Artis (Hampton, Virginia), born in Ahoskie, North Carolina, who passed away on August 30, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Artis and Amaza Artis; and his brothers, Jesse, Eddie, James and Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Sessoms Artis; his sisters, Julia and Willie Mae; his children, Curtis (Toni), Kenneth (Lisa), Ronald, Sharon Purden and Shelia Spagley; his foster daughter Karen Daniels (Clarence); and his sister Betty Jean Hall (Earl). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, foster children, relatives and friends.
