He was predeceased by: his parents, John Byrd, Sr. and Allie Hoggard; his sister Carol Peavy; his daughter Michelle Lewis; and his great grandchild Haley Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Byrd; his sons, John William Byrd (Lisa) and Gregory Byrd (Irene); his sister Virginia Barrow; his cousin Steve Gillikin; his grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Alyssa, Justin, Taylor and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Nikki, Evan, Wyatt, Cason, Presley, Olivia and Alaina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
