It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Thomas Benthall Sr. of Hampton, Virginia, who passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas "Johnny" Benthall, Sr. and Florence "Bootie" Hazelwood. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Routten Benthall; his son Terry J. Benthall (Elizabeth Estess "Beth"); his grandchildren, Emily Benthall Weathers (Paul), Jonathan N. Benthall (Bonnie) and Michael T. Benthall (Meg) of Simpsonville, SC; his daughter Mindy Benthall Bischoff; his grandchildren, Rachael B. Hardy (Joey), Deborah B. Larson (John), John "Stephen" Bischoff (Brittany) and Eric A. Bischoff (Beth) of Leeds, Alabama; his sister Shirley B. Benson of Smithfield, VA; his cousin Marjorie M. Lambert of Newport News, VA; and his stepchildren, Annette Watkins of Summerville, SC, Karla S. Watkins of Poquoson, VA and Kevin M. Watkins of Fort Myers, FL..
