She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen McGowan and Augusta McGowan; and her husband R. Marshall Peters. She is survived by: her children, Jay Sawyer (Karen) of Virginia Beach, Mary Ellen Sawyer of Hampton, David Sawyer (Tina) of Castle Rock, Elizabeth Hargrove (James) of Pensacola, Malory Spencer (Kenny) of Williamsburg and Richard M. Peters (Giselle) of Fairfax. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
