We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2022, at the age of 90, Gwendolyn Amory Cumming of Hampton, Virginia passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gwendolyn Amory Cumming to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert McLean Cumming. She is survived by: her children, Robert McLean Cumming Jr. (Lisa) of Williamsburg, Wendy Amory Cumming of Hampton, Ann Randolph Cumming Milligan of Williamsburg and George Amory Cumming of Richmond; her grandchildren, Robert III (Lia), Kristen (Alan), Lawson, Mabel and Mary Gwen; and her great grandchildren, Emma and Grant.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family service and interment will be conducted at St. John's Episcopal Church, Hampton.
During this time, she served as the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee for 15 years, as the director of the University of Mary Washington Foundation Board, and served on the Alumni Board. Gwen was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Library of Virginia and its Foundation Board for 5 years.
