Gwathney is survived by: siblings, Barbara Foster, Rose Webster, Maggie Bansfield, Ann Rae Taliaferro, James Taliaferro and Lawrence Watkins; children, Michael Cook, Sharon Owens, Theodore Cook and Elijah Taliaferro; and grandchildren, Shawntay, Courtney, Stacie, Jasmine and Adrian. Gwathney is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
