She was predeceased by: her husband John Francis Spencer; and her son Douglas Wade Spencer. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Henry Spencer, II (Debbie) of Hampton and John Francis Spencer, Jr. of Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
