It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Marie Shingles (Hampton, Virginia), born in Neptune, New Jersey, who passed away on September 21, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Bates and Steven Jackson; and her siblings, Shirley Ann, Calvin, John and Leo Bates.

She is survived by: her children, Michele Wallace-Wilson and John Arthur Shingles, Jr. of Cuthbert, GA.; her grandchildren, Tramaine Ramsey Wallace of Dubai, Afrika Imari Pritchett of Hampton, VA, Khalil Robinson of Newport News, VA, Marquise Jaquan Wise of Winston-Salem, NC and Chyna Marie Williams-Wallace of Atlanta, GA; and her siblings, Curtis Wallace of Columbia and Helen Doss of New Jersey. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
