He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. and Mary F. Stokes; his wife Marie R.; and his siblings, Dorothy Price, Joan Dopkowski and Gerald Stokes.

He is survived by: his brother John "Skip" Stokes; and his children, Jean Thomas (David), Donna Baker (late Donald), Donald "Snuff" Stokes Jr. (Lisa), Denise Bailey (Tim) and Colinda Josefowicz (Tony). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
